Donald A. Wietmarschen
Don has been a Partner with the firm since 1990. He is a graduate of Ohio
Dominican College (B.A., 1977), the Ohio Northern University Pettit College of
Law (J.D., 1981), and Capital University law school (LL.M. in Taxation, 1991).
He was admitted to the practice of law in Ohio in 1981 and is also admitted to
practice before the United States Supreme Court, in the U.S. District Court,
Southern District of Ohio, and the U.S. Tax Court. He is a member of the
Muskingum County Bar Association (of which he was President in 1996) and
the Ohio State Bar Association.
His major practice areas include Taxation
Law, Estate Planning Law, Business Law and representation of Nonprofits
His civic activities include being a Life Member and Past President of the
Board of Directors of the Zanesville Museum of Art; Past Chairman of the
Board of Directors – Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce;
Past Member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of
United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties; and Past President of
the Muskingum County Business Incubator.
He received the Public Interest Pro Bono Alumnus Award from Ohio Northern
University College of Law in 2007 and was named Jaycee of the year in 1994
by the Zanesville Jaycees.
Don has been a Columbus Bluejackets season ticket holder since day one.
Don is an avid, yet mediocre golfer. His other outside activities are travel and
crossword puzzles.
Don was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and is married to Nancy Wietmarschen.
They have two adult children, Gretchen and Erich, and two grandsons.
